Philosopher.

  • I am an academic philosopher who lives in Gateshead, UK. Currently I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the ERC/UKRI KantianDESERT project at the University of Liverpool and I also teach a bit at the University of Lancaster.

I’ve recently written a book on humanism that’s coming out with Bloomsbury at some point in 2026. I’m currently developing a project on food justice.

I have also published a lot on Adorno, and am generally interested in the Frankfurt School (first generation only), philosophy from Kant to Marx, and the ‘Oxford Quartet’ (Anscombe, Foot, Midgley, Murdoch).

Before coming to Liverpool I did my PhD at Essex. I taught at Essex for a bit before churning through positions at Warwick, Hull, and Durham.
